Ian has a background in genomics & bioinformatics with experience working in population genomics, particularly falcons and seahorses across the Middle East and Asia. His research journey also spans antibacterial resistance, microbiome science, and cancer genomics. Now, Ian is channeling his passion towards conservation and wildlife genomics, hoping to influence policy and bolster rescue efforts. Currently, his research seeks to explore and develop the latest computational methods for estimating dispersal and gene flow directionality of vertebrates using landscape genomics and spatial occurrence data in Australia.
