Sascha
Sascha (she/her) was brought-up on farms on Gnaala Karla Booja and is well travelled with a passion for working in cross-cultural and intercultural spaces, emerging into conservation and land management as a remote community ranger coordinator in early 2019. She works with a human-centred, ‘ground-up’ approach to support effective community-led conservation and land management. By seeking to understand and grounding projects in curiosity, she has found it is possible to determine common ground on which to build the foundations of mutual trust and self-determination essential for positive outcomes - without the people, there are no projects. She values true ‘two-way’ science that mutually benefits Indigenous and diverse stakeholder priorities, world-views and contexts. Sascha acknowledges the immense generosity she has received from Martu as well as many other First Nations peeoples, in their willingness and generosity to teach, learn, growl and hold her safely on their Country.
