ABC News recently featured a story on the WA Polyphagous Shothole Borer invasion as part of its Stateline program. The story, ‘Bracing for the beetle’, by journalist Grace Burmas explores the story of the beetle’s of WA, from its arrival, to the detrimental effects it is having on Perth’s tree canopy, to the efforts that have been undertaken to control the beetle thus far, and the research being undertaken to inform management efforts for the future. PBG’s Ben Phillips is featured in the story, where he comments on the urgency of the response to the beetle, and the need for organisations to work in partnership to manage the invasion.
